Rain Gutter Wind Noise

Trying to sleep rest or work with the annoying sound of water dripping and trickling through your gutter downspouts can be maddening even when the noise volume isn t very high.

Thankfully there are some tricks to dampening this nerve grating sound. Adjust the downspout angle. The noise usually is caused by water falling down the downspouts and hitting the fitting at the bottom which on many gutters is sharply bent and empties the water into a splash pan or better. Your gutters have a clog.

If not loose sometimes if the hangers are too far apart the gutter sheet metal will buckle in and out making a sound sort of like flexing a cookie sheet or pie tin back and forth a metallic flutter sound.
