Replace Roof Vent Pipe Seal

Steps to replacing a roof vent jack.

Replace roof vent pipe seal.

Run a bead of silicone caulk around the vent pipe opening in the roof. Use the knife blade to scrape the pipe clean and smooth. Remove the plastic backing from the roofing membrane and slide it over the vent pipe and down onto the roof. Then run a second bead of caulk just below the first bead.

Dry fit it in place and make sure everything lines up and looks good add tip ask question comment download. Use your cutters to trim the seal until it fits neatly over the old seal. Slide the replacement rubber gasket over the pipe and press it down tight to the flange. Works for any size pipe.

Apply a thick bead of lap seal caulk around the seam between the vent pipe and old rubber gasket.
