While in sketch mode select a slope defining boundary line.
Revit roof different eave heights.
Fascia tool to sweep along eave and the rake which still leaves me with an open end.
If the roofs have different overhang dimensions you either have different slopes or different eave heights.
It essentially works the same way in that we pick our line that we want to keep or align to first and then we pick the eave line that we want to adjust as well as the other one.
Use join unjoin roof tool.
Align eaves i get the same amount of drop but we have the other option.
To create a dormer model required walls and additional roof.
Then follow these 2 steps.
9 join roofs add opening to create dormer.
To keep the ridge line centered on the structure and have 2 eaves at different heights with identical overhangs you would have to have 2 different roof slopes.
Rather than adjusting the overhang i can adjust the height effectively the bearing height of that edge of the roof.
This tool is located in the modify tab.
This video will show you how to increase the overhang on a portion of the roof and fix the eave height.
Take a look in 3d to see what is really happening.
After creating a roof you can adjust the height of the eaves.
Use the align eaves tool to realign eave heights of different boundary lines of a roof.
Use it to extend the dormer roof to the main roof.
Select a roof eave line and then select an option for adjusting eave properties.
Dimensions display near the eaves to indicate their height.
In order to close off the end of the soffit i will create a new fascia sweep but i will host it to the soffit not to the roof eave or rake.
On the properties palette specify a value for offset from roof base or plate offset from base.
The roof with the lower eave height would require a roof slope pitch greater that the roof with the higher eave height.
While in sketch mode click modify roofs edit footprint tab tools panel align eaves.
